Image selection

Degree show is fast approaching (DJCAD Degree show 2012 - Facebook) and the panic is slowly creeping in. My plan for the degree show display consists of 7 large mounted images (20"x30"), one large book (30cm x30cm), two smaller books (hopefully in accordion format) and possibly 4 paintings (two large, two small).

I ordered my seven large prints this weekend during a trip to Edinburgh from A&M Printing, who were really kind and helpful, and am waiting on the final quote for printing & mounting. The image selection process for these seven photographs was instantly difficult due to my closeness to the work and the models. To counteract a biased decision, I collected a varied opinion of my strongest pieces by urging a group of people that I knew (tutors, students, technicians, friends, family and the models themselves) to elect a maximum of 4 favourite images of each goddess, which I then photographed. Upon gathering the selections, I could then tally them up and make an informed decision on the  images which provoked the strongest reaction. Below is an example of some of the groupings:

The final seven images selected will be unveiled in May, closer to assessment and degree show time.
